Here I am! This is a very cool idea, now I don't have to make another Myspace page for my faire persona :) I figured a good introduction would be the background story that I quickly wrote up a couple years ago. Enjoy :) Name - Chastity Rose Dorne - Serving Wench, known as Rose Chastity Rose was born to Mary Dorne in a small English village. Chastity never knew who her father was. From her mother, she learned they had a night together and nothing more. Her mother refused to tell her any more detail than this, claiming it was unimportant. Chastity knew better than to push her mother to do or say something she didn't want to say, so she dropped the subject. When Chastity was only 12, her mother caught the fever and passed away. Chastity knew none of her mother's kin, and so was alone in the world. Since her mother had worked and lived in the same inn since Chastity was born, the manager decided to let her stay and work for her food and room instead of sending her off to a convent. This arrangement worked out well for the landlord. Mary had been his best wench, and without her, he would have to hire and train 2 more wenches to take her place. Chastity, on the other hand, was almost as good as her mother, and quite a suitable replacement. The kind landlord offered to help Chastity find a suitable husband many times, but Chastity wouldn't hear of it. She found no reason why she should marry a man, thus taking a ruler. To show her independence, she told everyone to call her by her second name, Rose, instead of Chastity. She'd always hated that name anyway. Now Rose is 25. The Queen's progression has once again returned to her village. The harvest festival is always a very exciting time in the village. Every peasant, merchant and noble dons their best clothing and celebrates the bountiful harvest with the Queen of England. Merchants come from far away lands and bring many new items to taste, touch and see. Whenever she can get away from the overcrowded inn, she can be found looking wistfully into shop windows, wishing it could be possible for her to live the life of a lady, instead of the dreary existence of a serving wench. |
